What is the temperature of the bottom surface of the kettle?

A copper-bottomed kettle, its bottom 24 cm in diameter and 3.0 mm thick, sits on a burner. The kettle holds boiling water, and energy flows into the water from the kettle bottom at 800 W.

Burned plastic from the tea kettle?

Boiling water and forgot… Burned for so long that the plastic parts of the kettle melted and dropped on the stove. A lot of burning-plastic smell in the kitchen overnight, just separated by a thin door from bedroom. Is this enough to harm health already? Also, what to do with the melt plastic that has stuck on the stove? thanks!

Why is it that when I boil water on the stove, the flame under the kettle turns yellow…?

The flame is normally blue. Does the fact that there is salt in the kettle have anything to do with it?
.
To fooles.troupe’s: I boil salty water to make macaroni (pasta).

To all: The flame only appears yellow when boiling water. It has something to do with boiling the water. It has nothing to do with the gas or the kettle.
I think it has something to do with water vapor in the air from the boiling water.
The flame turns yellow only after the water starts boiling. While the water is heating, but before it boils, the flame is blue.
Nothing to do with the gas or material of the kettle.

Plug in tea kettle fails because?

I have 1500Watt plug in kettle(for boiling water) This morning there was this strange odor in the kitchen and I could not boil any water. Thinking it was the wiring underneath I checked. Everything is fine and solidly connected and the temp. sensor points are not fried and are functional. The odor is closer to the 2 prong plug at the kettle. No smell at the wall plug.
I do remember seeing a number of these plug wires at the local Sally-Ann. Are they problematic? Repairable or what? There is power(I hear the arcing) there at the kettle (sort of) as I unplug from the kettle and leave the other end in the wall. The prongs on the kettle are shiny and straight.
Do I get another cord or what?

The water from my kettle tastes like Persil (washing powder) – how do I get rid of it?

I’ve placed my Tefal plastic kettle next to my 4kg Persil Bio in a closed cupboard for a month and now whenever I boil water with my kettle it tastes like Persil. I tried boiling water with it 4/5 times, yet the taste is still there – any other ideas to how I can get rid of it?

Thanks :D

When you warm water in a kettle, it's temperature usually rises. But if the temperature reaches?

When you warm water in a kettle, it’s temperature usually rises. But if the temperature reaches 100 degrees Celsius and you keep warming the water, the temperature stays at 100 degrees Celsius. Where do you think the heat you are supplying the water is going, if the temperature of the boiling water is not rising?

Should we a little water in kettle always?

After boiling water should we leave a little water inside it? I have two theories:
1. Leave some water else the heater will get harm because of temperature .
2. Dont leave water else the lime will make kettle useless.
ohh should i boil vinegar in kettle? How long should i leave vinegar inside
